“Ozark Foggy Morning”

May 18, 2013 we will showcase Randal Thompson, local photographer who is an integral part of our gallery. This year his show will consist of landscape seen in and around Eureka Springs. His heartfelt interpretation of what we see on a daily basis makes me look through new eyes when I view scenes about town. Visit with him and get some insights into why and how he does what he does! He will be with us from 1-4 p.m. and again from 6-9 p.m. at 19 Spring Street.

“Buffalo Blues” by Carol Dickie

Most of the patrons of Eureka Thyme are familiar with Carol Dickie’s paintings. She certainly has some surprises in store for us this year! In addition to her exciting original art, Carol is debuting the first in a series of limited edition prints. These prints are unlike anything we have ever had in our gallery. We are very excited to offer this quality shift in two select prints per year. This year’s offering will be “Buffalo Blues”, shown above, and “Afternoon Moon” — which will be a surprise for all of us! Words and pictures cannot depict the beauty of these special limited edition prints. We look forward to seeing you at the show!

Valerie Hubbard Damon will be the featured artist for the May 11th Gallery Stroll at Iris at the Basin Park, introducing 15 new ‘bone’ creatures, dolls and rocking horses. This visionary’s imagination has soared to a new level of fantasy in this new art. Valerie will be signing books and prints as well as sharing stories from 1-4 PM and 6-9 PM. Be sure to stop in and see her new work.

Stop in and meet Judy Carpenter!

Local jewelry artist, Judy Carpenter will be the featured artist at the Saturday, May 4^th Gallery stroll at Iris at the Basin Park. Miss Judy’s work embellishes fine stones and gems in both gold and silver findings. Additionally, she has been creating a number of creative bugs from recycled silverware. Collected locally and regionally by art lovers, her work continues to bring acclaim. Please stop and meet Judy at the gallery from 1-4 and 6-9 P.M.

11th Annual High School Art Exhibit

Iris at the Basin Park proudly hosts an exhibit of student artwork for the 11th year. This year, art students from Eureka Springs and Berryville High Schools teamed up to create individual pieces of art in support of the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. Art teachers Jessica Cummings of EHS and Sara Russell of BHS encouraged their students to learn about the animals housed at Turpentine Creek and their native habitats and then to create a unique artistic impression from that knowledge. The results will be on display and for sale in the gallery during the May Festival of the Arts. All proceeds will be donated to Turpentine Creek.
