Gallery Strolls will be more exciting than ever this year! Our boundaries have expanded and all galleries and studios in the area are invited to join in with open doors no matter what your location. But specifically, this year new members of our Gallery Association are Out on Main — which is actually at One Basin, down the stairs directly across from the Basin Park. And on Main Street at #229 you’ll find Teresa Purkeypile at Fantasy and Stone. You’ll recognize them from the beautiful wrought-iron railings and the beauty of their space. And while you’re on Main, don’t look for Artifacts because they’ve moved to Spring Street. You’ll find Sharon happily showing you this wonderful gallery in the newly expanded JA Nelson Gallery space, upstairs from Crazy Bones. Keels Creek is on the Highway — 62 East. Shortly before you get to Passion Play Road you’ll see this majestic building which houses the gallery and showcases their own great wine. At Studio 62, going west out of Eureka Springs, right past the Bavarian Inn, you’ll find Jody Stephenson and Ron Lutz, she is a painter of beautiful pictures and he a taker of amazing photos. On Prospect Street, very close to the Crescent Hotel, you’ll find Prospect Gallery The co-owner of this gallery is a quietly powerful artist, Rebecca Becker. After you’ve visited with her, stroll over to the Crescent Hotel and see what Serendipity, the sister gallery of Iris at the Basin Park, is doing.

Speaking of Iris and Rick, their gallery is next to Basin Park at 8 Spring Street. I don’t know what new art they have, but they have one of the truly great sellers of art in Lyla Allison. Visit with her and see her casual, elegant jewelry. Speaking of jewelry, Nancy and Wayne at The Jewel Box have moved from their long-held location right past Quicksilver to a spot closer to the park. They’re at 40 Spring Street, across from Artifacts at 37 Spring. Then up the Street is Zarks, a long-time favorite gallery at 67 Spring. Rick and Sarah Armellini have decided to retire. Lucky for us they have sold the business and it will continue in the same space. Stop in to say goodbye and hello! Then on to Quicksilver who I’m sure will have some super cool art in various forms. Whew! It’s okay if you can’t visit us all in one night! We will have strolls every 2nd Saturday — plus in the Month of May we’ll have special times planned for every single Saturday! We guarantee you’ll have a good time!

And don’t forget Eureka Thyme! We’re partying with Kriste-lee and Mr. Shrine and we’ll be there until no one is coming in the door anymore! Happy Spring to everyone!

Eureka Thyme‘s April gallery stroll in Eureka Springs will have the theme of April Follies. They are full of joy, as is she! Mr. Shrine (a/k/a Ralph Wilson) has a sense of humor which keeps everyone around him smiling. And his work reflects that joy! Meet Ralph and Kriste-lee and view new and favorite creations on Saturday, April 14, from 1-4 p.m. and again during the regularly scheduled gallery stroll from 6-9 in the evening. 19 Spring Street, (479) 363-9600.

Fantasy & Stone, at 229 N. Main Street, celebrates April Folly with wonderful, whimsical jesters by Meredith Edwards. (479) 253-5891.

The Prospect Gallery, at 42 Prospect, explores April Folly with a special exhibition: “From the Sublime to the Ridiculous.” Carol Saari’s lovely, lyrical, small Saraswati and Ganesha canvases, and Rebecca J. Becker‘s paintings of jesters and fools will tease viewers into April smiles. (479) 253-5012.
