The Second Saturday Gallery Stroll in Eureka Springs will be held July 14. The galleries of Eureka join to celebrate independence in unity with the theme Freedom to Create. Eureka Thyme features the art of Melanie Myhre and her magical realism photography. Melanie’s freedom to create magical scenes based on a physical space is described by her in this way:

“Each scene is created using multiple exposures, each one blended meticulously into the next, while taking into account lighting, scale, and perspective; to create a final breathtaking composition. Magic and reality meet in these dreamlike places of tranquil beauty, recalling a romantic sensiblity often missing in todays’ world. Each dreamscape conveys the subconcious world where imagination reflects a longing in our hearts for a more peaceful world, and a haunting remembrance of innocence lost in childhood.”

The May Festival of the Arts is the most exciting time of the year for the artists and galleries of Eureka Springs! We are happy to announce that the annual Eureka Springs Invitational Art Show is being held this year in Artifacts Gallery, located at 37 Spring Street. Here you will see 50 local artists exhibited in this delightful new venue which is now located downtown. Eureka Thyme joins with all the galleries in town to welcome Artifacts and encourage everyone to visit this exceptional show of cool and diverse art on exhibit for the entire month of May.
While you’re there, see this fun painting by Betty Johnson. Betty is the featured artist at Eureka Thyme on May 5, the first of four gallery strolls in celebration of the Art of Eureka. Meet Betty from 1-4 p.m. and again from 6 to 9 p.m. Her new paintings are full of joy and delight in life. Check this blog often as some big announcements will be forthcoming soon!
