May Festival of the Arts @ Zarks Gallery

By admin

For the 24th Annual May Festival of the Arts, Zarks Gallery will be hosting three events (one more to be announce later) including their annual Theme Show.

• Saturday May 7 – TERRI LOGAN TRUNK SHOW – opening of a month-long show of of work by nationally-known artist, jeweler, and metalsmith, Terri Logan.

While Terri herself could not make it this year, she will be keeping Zarks supplied throughout the month with an enticing selection of handsome pieces for her collectors.

The gallery will celebrate the opening of the show that evening with a reception from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

• Saturday May 14 – 13th Annual Group Invitational Theme Show – “CATS & DOGS”
Over 30 area artists were invited to interpret this year’s theme, “CATS & DOGS”, in their own original style and in their choice of medium/s, the only limitations being the size and scope of their imaginations.

The show will be on display all day Saturday and everyone is invited to come by and cast their vote for the “People’s Choice Award.” The winner will be announced that evening at the artists’ reception from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

• Saturday May 21 – Shea Yetta: “SOUL, THERAPY, LOVE, PASSION AND SORROW – KATRINA’S LEGACY”
A methodical blend of glass, scrap metal, found objects, recycled materials, and previously loved fragments from her home destroyed in Hurricane Katrina – all refurbished from her past and present. The artist will be in the gallery May 21st from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and will be honored at a reception that evening from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M.

• Saturday May 28 – Randy Wright: “FLOWING LINES”
Randy works primarily with metal and stones, incorporating the feel of organic motion and growth into the solidity of metal forms. She strives to capture the ephemeral beauty of nature and translate it into objects which enhance the connection between nature and humanity. The new work that she will be featuring is inspired by the flowing lines found in nature.

Randy will be in the gallery May 28th from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and that evening at a reception from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M.

Zarks Gallery is located at 67 Spring Street in Historic Downtown Eureka Springs. For more information call 479/253-2626 or toll free 877/540-9805 or visit the website at www.zarksgallery.com.
